Both intravenous infusions and injections involve using a needle to deliver a liquid medication into a blood vessel; however, they differ in terms of the volume and rate of administration. While it is possible to switch from an injection to an intravenous infusion, the reverse—switching from an infusion to an injection—is not feasible, as the concentration of the active ingredients in the infusion is too high.
